1. It has a gorgeous castle
Mombeltrán Castle lies on a beautiful spot, nestled in the mountains of the Sierra de Gredos. The Mombeltran castle we see today was built by Don Beltrán de la Cueva, the first Duke of Alburquerque that is why it is also known as the Castle of the Albuquerque.
The construction of the castle took place between 1462 and 1474, then it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1949. It is a square of rubblework and granite ashlar masonry with circular towers rising in the corners. It was undoubtedly a stunning fortress at its time as it has a military and defensive appearance.
Although the passage of time deteriorated its structure, it is still pretty impressive. Book a guided tour and discover this gorgeous castle because it is undoubtedly one of the greatest tourist attractions in the city.

2. Visit Mombeltran: A wonderful heritage to discover
In addition to the wonderful castle, Mombeltrán has so much more to offer to the traveler craving for history and culture. For example, there is the church of San Juan Bautista dating back to the 14th century. Admire the countless artistic elements inside the church. For instance, three paintings surround the beautiful 18th-century Churrigueresque altarpiece; they portray Saint Simon, Saint Jude Thaddeus, and the Assumption of Mary. Marvel at the reddish Renaissance facade and several painted shields in the inner courtyard.
The church rightfully became a Site of Cultural Interest in 1982.

3. It is a hotspot for rural tourism
It has become evident with the pandemic that rural tourism will rise in value. More and more people seek the tranquillity of nature and isolation from others. Mombeltrán is a town where you can enjoy silence and solitude. If you visit Mombeltrán, you’ll see that it offers all types of accommodation: shepherd’s inn turned into rural hotels, mansions, farms, and so forth. However, we must mention one accommodation that has been talked about so much lately and that is the Glamping The Teepee.
Glamping The Teepee is a wildly romantic tented camp located in the middle of a forest. There are six wooden teepee-style cabins nestled in a charming forest with the capacity to accommodate two adults (and one or two children depending on their age). Moreover, you can enjoy hiking and cycling nearby or just immerse yourself in the stillness of the place. Note that they also accept dogs, but it has an extra fee of 10 euros. It is easily accessible by car, located only seven minutes from Mombeltrán.
Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy Glamping The Teepee with the comforts of your home and the luxury of a hotel.
