The capital of Lower Silesia is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Poland. What is more, it is located on several islands connected by more than 100 bridges. Here is a guide to Wroclaw, what to do, and where to stay.

Accommodation:

It is best to choose accommodation as close to the center as possible, as most of the sights and attractions are located there. If you are traveling with a large group, the most convenient and cheapest option is Airbnb. Look for an apartment in the Krzyki, Nadodrze, or Śródmieście districts. Moreover, from there you can move around quite easily by using public transport.

Świebodzki Hostel (pl. Orląt Lwowskich 20B). This standard hostel is located in the building of the old train station, which now houses museums, a theater stage, and a cafe. In addition, a flea market is organized on the old rails on Sundays. You can literally find everything: from Ukrainian halva to vintage dresses.

Hart Hostel & Art (ul. Rydygiera 25a) is a place where you can spend the night and have a great time. Furthermore, the staff organizes exhibitions, concerts, and yoga classes. Each room was designed by a different local designer.

Grampa’s Hostel (pl. Św. Macieja 2 / 1c) is one of the most comfortable hostels in Wroclaw. It is located in a stunning area of ​​the city in an old building with high ceilings and huge windows. Also, the price of the place includes a hearty breakfast and a lot of entertainment in the common room: board games, books, and a Play Station.

You can start with the standard attractions: the market square, the opera, Ostrów Tumski, and the main building of the University of Wroclaw. If you want to get a deeper understanding of the history of the city, then you can go on a free excursion that takes place 2 times every day. You can admire the city’s landscape the city from one of the observation platforms in the towers of churches in the historical center: on św. Elżbiety 1/2 or Szewska 10. Get ready to reach the very top on foot, but the view of the colorful houses of the old market is worth it. Furthermore, you can go to the top floor of the Sky Tower shopping center (Powstańców Śląskich 95), the tallest building in Poland. Neon Side (Ruska 46C) is an open-air gallery of old neons. A colorful and shiny patio. It is best to go there at dusk or at night. There are several interesting bars nearby.

In the same way, there are a lot of huge parks in Wroclaw with spacious lawns. Many people choose this as a place to gather in the evenings and on weekends. If you are in the city during the warmer months, then buy a disposable grill and sausages in the supermarket and go to Szczytnicki, Grabiszyński, or Wschodni parks to feel all this summer vibe.

Cafes:

Vinyl cafe (Kotlarska 35-36) – an inconspicuous place at first glance, where inside you will find a pleasant interior and a gramophone on which vinyl records are constantly spinning. As well, the menu has good coffee, snacks, desserts, and alcohol.

Charlotte Chleb i wino (Świętego Antoniego 2/4) – one of the best breakfast spots. Here you will get excellent coffee and fresh bread made on-site with homemade jam and chocolate. In the late afternoon, the place turns into a wine bar and baguettes are served with olive oil and cheese.

Nanan (Kotlarska 32) – french desserts of indescribable beauty. Aesthetic pleasure can be obtained at the entrance of the establishment: a minimalistic interior in cold pink tones, marble tables. Behind the counter, choosing macarons and eclairs, you can feel like in a jewelry store.

Iggy Pizza (Kuźnicza 10). An original pizzeria with pink neon and chic interior. What is more, tomato paste, various types of cheese, and ham are brought to the kitchen directly from Italy.

Panda Ramen (Białoskórnicza 17/18). Bistro with Japanese ramen soup. At the entrance, instead of a menu, you will have a pencil and a small questionnaire. Choose a serving size, type of broth, and additional ingredients. Thus, the portions are huge and the prices are quite low.

Marynka (Kazimierza Wielkiego 39). A real must-go. Great place with craft beer and the best oven-baked pizza in town. The choice in the menu is not that vast, but the quality is really good.

Bars:

Literatka (Rynek 56/57). A bar for local intelligent youth and philosophers. Inside there are huge bookshelves and a calm atmosphere. This is one of the few places in the city with a huge smoking room that takes up half of the place.

Bułka z Masłem – one of the favorite places for young people in Wroclaw. During the day you can come here for lunch, and in the evening for good cocktails and snacks. The suggestive interior, is followed by a huge garden with tables and lamps.

Kalambur (Kuźnicza 29A). You will recognize this place because of the huge crocodile with a balloon at the entrance. Art cafe and bar in the building of the old theater in the Art Nouveau style. Moreover, this is a place where you can order a glass of wine and drink it with many Polish artists, actors, and directors. Now, alternative youth and local cultural workers hang out there.
