Apart from Semana Santa, the Malaga Fair 2022 is the most important festivity that is celebrated this year in the city of Malaga, Spain.
Performances, concerts, verdiales, pilgrimages, and much more are what await you at the Malaga Fair 2022. Whether it is your first time, or you have already been here years ago, this year you will be surprised by the numerous activities organized on the streets and fairgrounds.

1. When will it take place?
The Malaga Fair 2022 returns after two years of absence due to the pandemic. This year is celebrated from August 13 to August 20, with a duration of 7 days. As a historical date as a commemoration of the Reconquest of Malaga by the Catholic Monarchs and its incorporation into the Crown of Castile, August 19 is included in the week of celebration. Also, August 15 is a national day in Spain since It is the day of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
2. Details about the event:
With visitors from all over the world, the Malaga Fair 2022 is divided in two celebrations, one during the day and one during the night.
The Day Fair
It takes place in the city center around the main street named Marques de Larios. All streets of the historical center are decorated with thousands of lanterns and floral ornaments and people are dressed in traditional flamenco dresses. In Plaza de la Constitucion, and as well in all squares in the city center, there are tents where you can enjoy traditional food and drinks surrounded by an Andalusian ambiance.
Events and shows will also take place at Cortijo de Torres that will be converted into a fairground during this week. It’s the perfect place to visit during the day for the whole family since is where horses and harnesses are located. It is divided into areas for people of all ages. Depending on the music and atmosphere they offer, in the youth area, you can go to the many bars, and enjoy a cocktail or dance. If you like thrills, the mechanical rides and the fair stalls are located between the booths and the youth area.
The Night Fair
During the night, the fair is enjoyed more by the tourist than the day one due to better temperatures and best vibes. It is held at the Cortijo de Torres, in the Teatinos area that it will be covered in thousands of lights from Saturday 13th. Next to it, in the Municipal Auditorium, everyone can enjoy concerts with local and also well-known national artists.
