Malaga Library: Where to Study for Exams

Exam season is right upon us. This time is stressful and busy. While still going to classes, doing homework and working on group projects, you also need to find time for studying for the final exams. During this time of the year, every student is stressed and a little bit on the edge. Especially when doing Erasmus, this phase can be overwhelming. Since this is a new city and a new university, everything is a little bit different to what you are used to in your home university. Furthermore, the regular Erasmus parties, friends and roommates might make it even more difficult to focus on the exams. If you are looking for a quiet place to prepare for your finals, the following libraries in Malaga are the place to go. Furthermore, all of these offer free wifi access for students! Find the right Malaga library close to you and get started on being productive. Good luck! You can do this!

1. Biblioteca “Miguel de Cervantes” – Malaga Library

Biblioteca “Miguel de Cervantes” opened in 1972 and was the first Municipal Public Library of Malaga. The library is perfect for studying during exam times as it is a very spacious library. Hence, you will have no trouble finding space to sit and cram. Furthermore, due to the big windows, there is a good flow of light in the library which will help you stay awake. By foot, it will take you approximately 15 to 20 minutes from the centre to this Malaga library.

2. Biblioteca General – Malaga Library

Another amazing Malaga library is Biblioteca General. As it is a University library it is on the campus which means taking a bus from the centre to get there is recommended. Biblioteca General offers a cosy and quiet study environment. This library is perfect for deep concentration. During exam time you need to book a seat in advance as this study place is very popular among the students. Furthermore, the library is equipped with an air conditioning system. Thus, there is no excuse to go to the library even during a hot Malaga heatwave.

3. Biblioteca de Ciencias – Universidad de Málaga

Another rather big library is the Biblioteca de Ciencias. It is close to the Faculty of Sciences in Teatinos. The book selection is really big, thus, you will be able to find everything you need to know in the realm of Science. Check out this great Malaga library for a safe and quiet space to study and work.

4. Biblioteca Cánovas del Castillo – Malaga Library

In the centre of Malaga, you have the chance to study in the beautiful Biblioteca Cánovas del Castillo. This public library has plenty of room to sit as well as bright rooms to not lose concentration while studying. Since it is a public library everyone is welcome to come inside. For this library, you do not need to be a student which means also people who need to do work for their job have the opportunity to focus here.

5. Biblioteca de Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales Juan Antonio Lacomba Avellán

Even though this Malaga library is part of the university, unlike most of the University Libraries in Malaga, this one is closer to the centre and not in Teatinos. This library is great if you do not want to leave the centre but still appreciate university perks. During breaks, grab a cheap coffee from the Cafeteria and enjoy the cute garden outside.

6. Francisco de Quevedo Library – Malaga Library

A rather small but charming public library is Francisco de Quevedo Library. It is quaint and quiet. Since it is not particularly big it is rarely very busy. If you need a change of environment, check out this Malaga library.

7. Biblioteca Facultad de Psicología y Ciencias de la Educación

Another library in Teatinos is Biblioteca Facultad de Psicología y Ciencias de la Educación. This library is perfect if you want to study in silence and peace. This bright library offers plenty of seating to get productive!

8. Biblioteca de Informática y Telecomunicaciones

Biblioteca de Informática y Telecomunicaciones is very popular among the students. Not only does it offer a lot of seating but also silence during exam times. This Malaga library located in Teatinos will provide you with the necessary quiet environment to focus on your work without getting distracted.

9. Biblioteca “Manuel Altolaguirre” (Cruz del Humilladero)

Although this public library in Malaga might not be as big as others, it will convince you due to its atmosphere. The large windows in the reading area will not only let plenty of natural light into the building but also offer calming views of the green outside. This harmonious atmosphere will help you concentrate on your work and studies. Furthermore, it is close to the central bus station. Thus, closer to the centre than most University libraries.

10. Public Library – Provincial Library of Málaga

One of the biggest libraries in Malaga is the Provincial Library of Malaga. It has a wide variety of books and magazines. There are designated study rooms which make it easier to concentrate during the exam period. The Provincial Library of Malaga is a great calm environment to study or work. Since it is a public library, not only students can access but also other people.
